Housed on the 3rd floor of the Department's Building and includes the Laboratory of Zoology
Biology of animals from the organismic to the population level. Study of marine organisms, relationships and processes in the sea. Utilization of marine biological resources. Management and protection of the marine environment. Study of specialized and applied fields of Zoology. Protozoology, Comparative Anatomy, Entomology, Evolutionary Zoology, Theoretical Zoology, Animal Behaviour, Animal Diversity, Ichthyology, Ecotoxicology, Aquaculture.
The Section has the responsibility of teaching the following undergraduate courses: a) Zoology, b) Ichthyology, c) Aquaculture, d) Biological Oceanography, e) Fauna of Greece and f) Animal Behavior, while it is also participating in the inter-sectional course of Evolutionary Biology.
At postgraduate level, Members of the Section's Academic Staff teach in the Graduate Programs "Oceanography and Management of the Marine Environment", "Bioinformatics", "Modern Trends in the Teaching of Biology with the Aid of New Technologies" and "Ecology and Management of the Biodiversity".
